Question: How did you to decide to major in Spanish at Williams?

Denise Nunes: Loved the course options. Spanish seemed like it would be a useful skill.

Question: What are some of your favorite memories of classes, readings, professors, or study abroad experiences?

Denise Nunes: I enjoyed taking grammar classes with Bell-Villada, and his class exploring literature written by Garcia Marquez and other Latin American authors. Also really enjoyed Professor French class exploring Borges and Fox’s winter study class; cooking with Don Quijote.

Question: How did majoring in Spanish help prepare you for what you do now?

Denise Nunes: I’m one of three people on my unit who can communicate with Spanish speaking patients. That’s been extremely rewarding to help convey pertinent information to families in distress.
